Choir League Presents: The Shape of Things

In a time when our country feels especially fractured and uncertain, music has a way of reminding us of our shared roots and deep connections. This concert invites you into that spirit of remembrance and reconnection by celebrating the rich and diverse musical history of the United States.

At the heart of the program is Shape Note Singing—a uniquely American tradition that is rough-edged, communal, and full of conviction. Its influence can be felt across genres of American music, and its powerful sound continues to bring people together. You’ll hear selections from the Sacred Harp songbook alongside unexpected pairings and surprises, creating an evening that is both historically grounded and refreshingly new.
